Enrolment Information 
Children are able to enrol to Kindergarten for the year they are due to turn 5 years old. Generally, to enrol at Burnie Primary, you must reside within our zone. Proof of current address is required. Please contact the school office for clarification.

School Uniform
All children attending Burnie Primary School are strongly encouraged to wear full school uniform. The wearing of school hats while outside is compulsory during First and Fourth Term.
All uniform items are available for purchase through Lowes in the K-Mart Plaza.

Student Absences
All student absences are tracked very closely by the Department of Education. There are a number of options available to parents to explain children’s absences:

• Use the School Stream app
• Please contact the school by phone – 6433 3655
• Provide a note to explain the absence.
• If your child is absent from school an SMS will be sent to your mobile. A response to this text is another option to explain the absence.

Outside School Hours Care
Outside School Hours Care - Milpara is a service coordinated by Discovery Early Learning Centres. It aims to provide after school care in a stimulating and enjoyable environment, for children from Kinder to Grade 6.
Milpara Outside School Care is located in the terrapin between the main school building and the Jan Milburn Centre (JMC).
