NWPSSA - Penguin Athletics - Wednesday 13th March.
On Wednesday the 13th of March our school athletics team set out to compete in the North West State Schools Athletics Carnival at the Penguin Athletic Track. The weather was great - not being too hot for our athletes and no rain about.
It was great to see all of our students competing to the best of their ability. It is an excellent effort to be selected to represent your school and congratulations go to Bailey Ambrose, Nash Armstrong, Addison Bester, Tilly Blake, Blake Bracken, Abby Bromfield, Lily Bromfield, Ashley Bruce, Jaylan Bryan, Joshua Butcher, Lachlan Butcher, Jayley Cocks, Ryan Dick, Bryce Dunham, Johnty Dynan, Savannah Dynan, Ava Ferguson, Wilson Floyd, Mitch Garrard, Taj Halton, Nash Hammond, Harry Hardstaff, Noah Hardy, Jonty Hayes, Brooklyn Hill, Paige Jacobson, Kale Jordan, Xander Kirkland, Isabella Luck, Jayda Morgan, Ethan Mott, Taya Munday, Amarli Palmer, Lily Pease, Oliver Rattray, Ellie Rayner, Max Redman, Bronte Riley, Chelsea Ritch, Lottee Rolls, Alicia Ross, Briana Ross, Bruce Ross, Ella Scolyer, Sana Shrestha, Anna Smedley, Bridie Smith, Savannah Triffitt, Edgar Varney, Georgia Winchcombe and Kade Young for being selected in the school team.
We had a number of students make a semi final which is a terrific effort well done to Ryan Dick, Bailey Ambrose, Brooklyn Hill and Savannah Triffitt in the 75m, Joshua Butcher, Oliver Rattray, Nash Armstrong, Nash Hammond, Blake Bracken, Johnty Dynan, Ellie Rayner, Bryce Dunham, Xander Kirkland, Taj Halton, Lottee Rolls, Savannah Triffitt and Ella Scolyer in the 100m.
Bryce Dunham, Xander Kirkland, Taj Halton, Bridie Smith, Lottee Rolls, Savannah Dynan Ella Scolyer, Oliver Rattray, Nash Armstrong, Ryan Dick, Amarli Palmer, Nash Hammond, Blake Bracken, Johnty Dynan and Ellie Rayner were selected in the 200m.
Burnie Primary School has a number of runners who have qualified for the twilight finals on Tuesday the 19th of March, they include; Lottee Rolls 100m, Bryce Dunham 100m & 200m, Oliver Rattray, Nash Armstrong, Blake Bracken 100m & 200m, Nash Hammond 100m & 200m Ellie Rayner, Joshua Butcher 100m, Bailey Ambrose 75m andXander Kirkland 400m
Special mention to Joshua Butcher who won the 800m which was an outstanding effort. Also to Taya Munday, Kade Jordan, Jayley Cocks, Wilson Floyd Shot Put and Jayley Bryan, Lotte Rolls, Bridie Smith and Bryce Dunham Long Jump who were brave enough to compete in these events, some with very experience.
