It is hard to believe that we are at the end of Term 1 already! Seeing the tired but happy faces of our students and staff certainly attests to how busy the term has been.
It has been wonderful to see the culmination of students' learning this week and teachers are looking forward to moderating this learning with the Burnie Writing Collective of schools this Thursday. Looking collaboratively at student and teacher work, helps us improve students' learning outcomes.
North West State Team
Congratulations to our students from Grades 3-6 who were selected to represent the North West at the state carnival next term. We know you will continue to uphold Burnie Primary School's values and expectations at the carnival.
Home Reader Program
Reading at home is one of the best ways to support your child’s educational progress. This may be reading to your child/ren or listening to them read. Many classes are already sending books home for home reading, either a library book or a levelled reader.
We will be sending a Home Reading Brochure home with all students at the beginning of Term 2 with information about our whole school Home Reading Program and how you can support your child’s reading at home. If you have any questions, please don’t’ hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher.
Values Certificate Winners
A big congratulations to all our Values Certificate winners and thank you to all our families who were able to come and share in this celebration. We are looking forward to having the difficult task of choosing more winners next Term.
Farewell
We are sadly farewelling Mr Ben Johnston who will be taking on a leadership position at Richmond Primary School next term. We wish Mr Johnston and his family all the best. Mrs Emma Sterta will be taking over Mr Johnston's teaching role, along with Mrs Fidler in Grade 3.
We wish all our families a safe and happy holiday and look forward to seeing you all back on Wednesday, 21 April for the beginning of term 2.
