Dear Parents/Carers, Please find attached a copy of the letter sent home yesterday regarding the limited access to the School from Friday 20 March. Also attached is the School map showing the external entrance points.
Please do not hesitate in calling the school should you have any questions.

Tomorrow will be Free Dress Day.
The theme of the day is about celebrating who we are as individuals. Therefore, we are asking students, staff and families to dress in a way that represents who they are as an individual. Some examples are dressing as:
Favourite sports team.
- Your hobbies and interests.
- Your favourite clothes.
- Your cultural clothing.
- A hero
- Your favourite animal, colour, book character

This week is Harmony Week across Australia. In 4JH we have been exploring the word diversity. It means to have a variety of different things. We like having a variety of different people and cultures in Australia. The message for Harmony Week is Everyone Belongs. We looked at some patterns used in cultural arts and found an eight pointed star known as the Rub el Hizb. We used this shape to create different backgrounds for our words. We hope you enjoy them.
We wish to thank you for your contributions as we are very excited to announce $809.00 was raised. These funds will be retained for the pending Year 5 Camp.
Burnie Primary School Math Club will be commencing week 9, Monday 30 March.
Any students from Prep - 6 who are interested in Math and want to develop their skills are invited to Mr Johnston’s classroom each Monday during lunch to work cooperatively with others.
This is not an extension or homework program, instead the focus of Math club will be on playing with math, using challenging games, puzzles and art while looking for and describing patterns and ideas. It’s about exploring, engaging and making the math fun.

Thank you to all our lovely families who were able to attend our Tunes for Tots Launch into Learning sessions this term – it was great to get to know you, explore music with you and make many playdough creations!
While we have unfortunately had to cancel our Launch into Learning Programs for the remainder of the term there are, however, lots of lovely things you are able to do at home with minimal equipment and some imagination!

A container filled with rice or pots and pans make wonderful improvised instruments! Neck scarves can be substituted as dancing scarves and you can sing along to the recordings. J

Playdough
A tip that Mrs Matthews was given by a Launch into Learning colleague was to use coconut oil when making playdough (rather than vegetable) and to add a little more than recipe suggests. Makes for soft and nice smelling playdough.
Take Home Packs
Mrs Matthews will be working on getting together some take home packs and resources that our Launch into Learning families will be welcome to borrow. Please keep an eye on school communication for news of when these will be available to borrow.
